Bulgogi (Korean BBQ)

We can make this famous Korean dish at home just with some simple ingredients which are some basic ingredients for Asian cuisine : soy sauce, sugar, garlic, pepper and sesame oil.

Bulgogi is Korean style grilled meat slices, we could use pork or beef, but I prefer to use pork. They can be grilled on a charcoal grill or a grill pan. There is a similar dish in Japanese cuisine, Beef Yakiniku.

Bulgogi (Korean BBQ)

Serve : 6

Ingredients :
1 kg pork neck, slice thinly
cooking oil

Marinade :
1 clove garlic, crush
9 tbsp Kikkoman all purpose soy sauce
5 tbsp brown sugar
black pepper
2 tbsp sesame oil

Extra :
steamed white rice
white or black sesame seeds
spring onion slices

Steps :
Put all ingredients for the marination in a mixing bowl. Stir them until well combined. Add in pork slices, mix until all slices are covered with the marinade. Let them marinade for about 2 hours.

Prepare a pan over medium high heat. Add in a little amount of oil. Put about 2 portions of marinated pork. Stir them frequently, cook until golden brown. Turn off the heat.

To serve, put a portion steamed white rice into a bowl. Put the pork over the rice, sprinkle with sesame seeds and spring onion slices.
