Sauteed Lettuce in Oyster Sauce

This dish is very popular in Hong Kong, they call it "蚝油生菜" (háoyóu shēngcài). It's cheap and easy, a good companion with Charsiu BBQ Pork and Roasted Five-Spice Pork Belly.

Sauteed Lettuce in Oyster Sauce

Serve : 2

Ingredients :
½ Lettuce (Iceberg), chop roughly
1 tbsp cooking oil
1 clove garlic, peel and break it
50 ml water1/2 tbsp oyster sauce (or less if you don't like too much, if you're a vegetarian, just skip it, and substitute with sprinkle of salt)
pinch of ground white/black pepper

Steps :
In a wok or a frying pan over medium high heat, add oil and garlic, wait until fragrance. Then add the lettuce, stir it for about 30 seconds. Add water, oyster sauce and pepper (I don't add salt into it because oyster sauce is already quite salty for me), stir well until they shrink then turn off the heat immediately and transfer to a serving plate/bowl (don't cook it too long otherwise it becomes too soft).
