Sweet Braised Pork Ribs

This is one of favorite pork ribs dishes in our family. Honey brown sauce around the tender meat! Just check how to make it 😉

Sweet Braised Pork Ribs

Serve : 4

You need:
a pressure cooker

1 kg pork ribs, cut through between the bones
½ tbsp salt
Water for boiling

For the sauce:
4 tbsp ketchup
2 tbsp soya sauce
4 tbsp honey
2 tbsp brown sugar
1 tbsp Chinese dark soy sauce
2 tbsp water

Steps :
Put the ribs into a pressure cooker, add salt and water until ribs all covered. Close and lock the lid. Cook on high heat until it reaches the highest pressure, it will be recognized by very loud whistling noise and the pressure indicator will pop up. Turn off the heat but don't open the lid until the indicator goes down again. Drain the ribs. Don't throw away the cooking water, it's flavorful good stock for congee or soup.

In a dutch oven or a pot with lid over medium heat, add 1 tbsp of cooking oil then pour in the sauce mixture, cook it until simmers then add the ribs. Turn the heat down into low heat, stir carefully until the sauce covers all the ribs. Close the lid the let it cook for about 20 minutes. Check and stir every 5 minutes (to prevent burning). Serve with steamed white rice or/and sauteed vegetables.
